Saturday Project : Donuts. Plus recipe!

Hi All,

Today is a holiday, Mama and I decided to do something. We're making donuts, yaaaay! And this time, Mama let me to make my own donuts. Well of course the hardest part (kneading the dough) is Mama's part. It's a messy part and needing a lot of energy! But I really enjoy the rest of the process : making it into smaller balls, making a hole in every balls, (frying is also Mama's part) and then decorate them into beautiful donuts with sugar and chocolate.

Noura of course made a lot of trouble. But because it's a holiday, we let her to do whatever she like, hahaha... Here's the recipe, if you like to know how we made it.

Potato Donut

500 g all purpose flour
100 g sugar
11 g instant yeast (in Indonesia, instant yeast comes in 11 g packet)
200 g potato, steamed and mashed, cooled
75 g butter, room temperature
1/2 tsp. salt
4 egg yolks
100 ml cold milk

Combine the flour, sugar, and instant yeast in a bowl . Mix well
Add the mashed potato and egg yolks, mix well
Add the cold water in about 2-3 addition. Continue kneading until the dough is smooth but not completely elastic.
Add the butter and salt and continue kneading until elastic and the dough doesn't stick to the side of the bowl or your hand.

Let is rice in a warm place until the dough doubled in volume (time varies depending on the temperature of the room).
Weigh the dough about 50g each (or less if you want smaller donuts), and shape it to the regular donut shape, or any shape you like.
Let it proof the second time until the dough rise again.
Deep fry the dough in hot oil over medium heat. Make sure it's not too hot
